jan 5, 1968 - Czech uprising
Description:
Period of political liberalization in Czechoslovakia when reforms were introduced by their then-president in an effort to give more rights to citizens and decentralize the economy. Ended in August of that year when the Soviet Union invaded in order to remove that president.
The Cold War Concept that this event matches to is Sphere of Influence. This is because the USSR wanted to maintain their ideological control of Czechoslovakia, and if they escaped the Soviet sphere of influence, it would encourage other countries to revolt as well.
