aug 4, 1572 - St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre

Description:

St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre was an assassination of French Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion planned by Catherine de Medici because of religious intolerance. About 3,000 Huguenots were killed in Paris and 70,000 killed in France as a whole. Instead of ending the violence between Catholics of Huguentos, it only amplified it and caused rebellion.
