jan 2, 1598 - Edict of Nantes

Description:

King Henry IV gave Protestants substantial rights for the first time. French Calvinists, Huguenots, had rights to education and worship after a long time without. While the Protestants now had more freedom, the Catholics were even more upset which led to new conflicts arising between the two forms of Christianity.
