Description:

Carthage was under siege by Agathocles. This siege was thought to be vengeance of the gods from subbing their children in the sacrificial rituals for those children of the slaves and commoners. After this the nobles offered 200 of their children to apes their good and make up for their action and deception.

This belief would lead to a very horrific event that helped to shape a young Hannibal's beliefs system.
