The Council of Trent is a series of three councils held between 1545 and 1563 called by Pope Paul II to resolve the Protestant Revolt. It was held in the city of Trent, on the border of France and Germany. In the final council, A final doctrine was creating stating that only the church could interpret the Scripture, faith and good works results in salvation, and the doctrine of transubstantiation.
