Treaty of Westphalia ended the Thirty Years War and recognized Dutch Independence, Also extended terms of the Peace of Augsburg to Calvinists and weakened the authority of the Holy Roman Empire which acted as a turning point in European political, religious, and social history. German states were now able to determine their own religion.
