jan 1, 1685 - Revocation of the Edict of Nantes

Description:

Without this law the Huguenots were required to have a Catholic baptism. Also, there was to be destruction of Huguenot churches, the closing of schools, and the exile of Huguenot pastors who refused to renounce their faith. The result of the Revocation caused the departure of some of the king’s most loyal and industrially skilled subjects.
