Description:
After the opposition of the Stamp Act the British parliament decided to get rid of the tax. Some felt the repeal gave too much power to colonial governments. The Declaratory Act was passed to show parliament had total authority over the colonies.The act stated that parliament had power to pass any law over the colonies, including taxes. Colonists felt England was disrespecting thier governments.
