feb 10, 1763 - End of Salutary Neglect

Description:

Britain had used salutary neglect within the colonies and avoided enforcing strict laws within the colonies allowing them to run themselves economically. By the end of it, they tried to reverse this event and enforce strict laws in the colonies. Britain wanted to tighten their influence and control within the colonies, and the colonists did not appreciate this.
"By this time, however, the colonists had developed a tradition of self-government and the attempt by England to tighten the reigns of political control with the imposition of tax and trade regulations added to the tensions spawned by the French and Indian War (the North American theater of the Seven Years War)."
