Description:
Causes: The Continental army was forced to stay here during a harsh winter, but the position was somewhat advantageous. They not only could keep an eye on British activities in Philadelphia but they acquired an area that treated the army brutally.
Effects: Though the difficult conditions led to injury and death, those that did survive were more determined and strong than ever. They also acquired a new sense of discipline, which will lead to many victories in the future.
