jan 1, 300 BC - Aristotle
Description:
Aristotle disagreed with Democritus' theory that matter can be divided into the smallest piece. It was his belief that everything was a combination of earth, water, air, and fire, and that there is no such thing as separate particles making up a material, he believed it was all one. His theory was that mass was everywhere, and this mass he called hyle.
