jun 8, 1527 - Sack of Rome (1527)

Description:

The Sack of Rome was a major battle that involved the Holy Roman Empire, which was ruled by Charles V at the time, gaining a victory against the League of Cognac —the alliance of France, Milan, Venice, Florence and the Papacy- in Rome, allowing Charles to have dominance in Italy. By the Holy Roman Empire not only taking a victory against the opposing league, but doing so in a capital that allowed them to have dominance in a powerful country, a new institute of government would be sanctioned to follow the guidelines of the Empire, increasing its territory and relating it back to the AP theme (SP).
