apr 17, 1917 - America joins the war
Description:
America had ended it's neutrality because Germany pronounced to use unrestricted warfare in war zone waters, and only three days later on April 17th 1917 America joined the war alongside it's allies, Britain, France, and Russia. Just over a year after America joined the war, Germany had surrendered. Another reason that America joined was the Zimmerman letter which was a letter from Germany sent to Mexico to create an alliance, also promising them that they will get Texas back.
America was still trading goods with Europe during the war so the ships were being attacked by German U-boats.
During this time Woodrow Wilson led America Through this war, trying to stay neutral but ended up joining the war.
