After the success in the taking of Damascus, al-Din turns his attention to sieging Aleppo, where al-Din’s nephew, al-Salah was - Saladin thought that al-Salah was being controlled by advisors and he wanted to unite Aleppo with the rest of sunni islam. The siege ran its course and by the end al-Salah was still in control, but the advisors now had to accept Saladin’s authority in the region
