The battle of Quebec occurred on December 31, 1775 and had heavy losses on the Americans. The Governor of Canada, Guy Carleton, and Colonel Allen Maclean led about 1,200 British troops against General Benedict Arnold and Brigadier Richard Montgomery, who led about 1,200 Americans.
