may 10, 1775 - Battle of Ticonderoga
Description:
On this day America sent 83 soldiers to raid the fort in search of liquor with about 400 more soldiers coming later. The soldiers inside were sleeping so no resistance was given but because of it the fort was destroyed in search of this liquor. The commander was infuriated by the lack of discipline the soldiers had and apparently caused the drawing of swords. Because of this the other commander, Ethan Allen took complete credit for the operation.
