mar 18, 1774 - Coercive (Intolerable) Acts Began

Description:

The Coercive Acts were laws passed in response to the Boston Tea Party that targeted Massachusetts after they refused to pay for the lost property. Parliament sealed off their port and took over the local government. Instead of defusing the situation, it only encouraged other colonies to resist even more in support of Massachusetts. Boycotting increased and colonists began to resist laws and taxes even more.
