sep 1, 1764 - Currency Act

Description:

The Currency Act allowed the British government control over the currency system in the colonies. It discontinued the currency that was used during the war, both new bills and old. Parliament didn't help regulate or adjust the currency to a hard currency system like England, so the colonists were at an extreme disadvantage in trade (ushistory.org).
