aug 24, 1572 - St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre

Description:

It is known as one of the bloodiest episodes, ordered by Catherine d' Medici, in Early Modern French history which was a major turning point in the religious wars because it prolonged the war. It falls under the AP Theme of Individual Society because Catholics feared Huguenots' influence at the court. One of its major impacts is that it greatly weakened the Huguenots cause, but it also increased Protestant unity.
