King George III was crowned king of Great Britain on October 25, 1760, after his father, Frederick, Prince of Wales died from a leg injury at the age of 44. King George III was the oldest son of Frederick, Prince of Wales and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha, making him the heir and next in line for the throne. King George III was filled with responsible since the French and Indian War was taking place between Britain and France. King George III had to borrow money in order to win the war which leads to him taxing the colonists and angering them greatly, causing further conflicts between Great Britain and the colonists.
