jan 1, 1909 - Robert Millikan
Description:
Millikan, using the falling-drop method, found the quantity of charge carried by an electron. The falling-drop method is the method "in which the time of fall of a drop of a sample liquid through a reference liquid is measured." Through this Millikan found that electrons have one unit of negative charge and that its mass is 1/1840 that of a hydrogen atom.
