Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the revolutionary war which was fought in Massachusetts. The start of the american revolution is referred to " the shot heard around the world" because of this battle. in this battles British troops were sent to confiscate weapons but they ran into angry and untrained people but the 700 british soliders were defeated.Added to timeline:
