mar 5, 1770 - Boston Massacre
Description:
The Boston Massacre started as a riot, with colonists throwing snowballs and rocks at British soldiers. The British threatened to shoot, some colonists even dared the British to shoot, and some colonists pled the British to hold their fire. Eventually, the call of “Hold your fire!” was heard, but some British soldiers shot their firearms. Five colonists were killed, and the British soldiers were taken for a trial. John Adams decided that the British soldiers deserved a fair trial, so he defended them. Eventually the verdict was that the British were innocent, although two of the British soldiers were guilty of manslaughter.
