Mildred Jeter and Richard Loving, an Interracial couple, were arrested for violating Virginia’s law interracial. They were banned from living in vVirginia. They appealed their conviction to the Supreme Court who overturned it and ruled the Virginia law and similar laws in 15 other states were unconstitutional. Supreme Court banned laws that outlawed interracial marriages.
