apr 15, 1920 - Beginning Of US Branch Plants
(Economic)
Description:
The 1920's was when companies in the U.S. expanded, and put branch plants in Canada. These plants were mostly built in Ontario and Quebec, known as Industrial Canada. This provided many jobs, and training opportunities for Canadians, but the top jobs were held by Americans. The profit made by these branch plants went to their parent companies in the U.S. Instead of making, and selling our own products, we brought in U.S. companies, and sold their products. This shows how the U.S. was taking control of our economy with their branch plants.
