mar 18, 1766 - The Declaratory Act

Description:

The Declaratory Act felt that after the opposition to The Stamp Act, the British parliament decided to repeal (get rid of) the tax. Some felt the repeal gave too much power to the colonial government. The Declaratory Act was passed to show the parliament had total authority over the colonies. The act stated that the parliament had power to pass any low over the colonies, including tax. Colonists felt that England was disrespecting their government.
