The Sugar Act was put into place by the England because they did not want to let the colonists smuggle sugar in their everyday life. How it affected the colonists was they were happy because they lowered the tax on sugar by their smuggle.But for the British they were mad at the colonists for starting the sugar act and not paying the full amount of taxes to lower the debt from the war.Added to timeline:
