oct 7, 1897 - J. J. Thomson
Description:
Thomson was responsible for discovering the electron in 1897, though he later proposed his atomic model- the famous plum-pudding model, in 1904. The model describes the atom as being composed of only electrons. Thomson discovered the electron during experimentation with the cathode rays. After his discovery, he focused on his model and exploring the structure of an atom.
