Description:

This was a small brief battle where when Washington was crossing the Delaware River he fought against Hessian mercenaries at Trenton. This was an easy and quick battle which significantly boosted the Continental Army's flagging morale and re-enlistments. This was also a big deal since they won people finally believed the Americans had a chance against this huge army that was the best in the world.
