After dinner, Joey and his parents meet with his baseball coach to find out whether or not he's on the all star team. The Coach hands them papers to sign and Joey is overjoyed to find out that they are for him to be on the team! But this joy quickly turns to sadness when he realizes that he is just an alternate, so he'll only be on the team if somebody else can't show up.
