The Peace of Westphalia brought an end to the 30 Years' War. Its signing led to the emergence of France as Europe's most powerful country and Prussia emerging as a great power, the effective destruction of the Holy Roman Empire, the independence of Netherlands and Switzerland and the adding of Calvinism to the Peace of Augsburg.
