John Brown and some of his supporters left their hideout one night en route to Harper's Ferry. They captured citizens and took weapons, but their plan soon failed when Brown and his fellow followers took hiding in an arsenal house, but was found and Brown was captured and sentenced to death, being hung December 2,1859
