jan 1, 1648 - Peace of Westphalia
The treaty ended the 30 Years' War, adding Calvinism to the Peace of Augsburg, allowing the Netherlands and Switzerland to become independent, and weakening the Holy Roman Empire's power. The events leading up to and after the treaty was signed and issued is related to the AP theme (SP) because it shows the changing political stances of several countries, like with the freedom of choosing Calvinism, as well as many rising and weakening powers in Europe, such as Prussia, pushing new institutes of influence.
