Haig's plan was made because the Germans
were stopping their naval routes to give war
supplies. So, he had a plan; he said if they could
break through the German frontlines in
Belgium. They could advance to the coast and
liberate the posts.After General Douglas Haig
showed his plan to the British war cabinet. They
did approve his plan and the battle was to start on July 31 2017.
This decision was made even though the British Prime Minister was skeptical.
