4h 20min, aug 8, 1918 y - At exactly 4:30 AM the allies and Canada
rushed the Germans with 600
tanks and 2,000 aircraft.
Some Germans immediately
surrendered, while the Canadian forces captured German prisoners.
The Allies and the Canadians largely outnumbered the Germans, and the
German commander Erich Ludendorff said ”depressed down to Hell”. The Royal
Air Force then laid smoke screens, which allowed the Canadians to
pass without being seen. The Canadians
then captured many important targets.
