Description:

Under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (2009), more than 90 Billions dollars was designated to the education sector, half of which went directly to school districts to recruit qualified educations, prevent current educator layoffs, and encourage modernization of schools (American Educational History, 2018). Additionally, the Race to the Top Initiative, allocated more than 4 Billion dollars to educational reforms. These k-12 reforms included new technology for data-driven studies on students growth and improved preparation for higher education. In regards to educators, the initiative continued to develop recruitment and retention for qualified educators and develop successful instructional methods. According to the Department of Education (2018), 275,000 jobs were either saved or created due to Educational funding received through the legislation.
