Description:
As a way to settle all of the controversies between the colonies in the past decades, Congress began to draft a Declaration of Independence. The committee writing the Declaration of Independence was made up of people such as Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Rodger Sherman, Robert Livingston, and Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the Declaration of Independence because he was a fantastic writer and from Virginia and in two weeks, he had finished the honorable task. The Declaration of Independence allowed the colonist to declare their independence from Britain.
