apr 5, 1764 - Sugar Act Passed By Parliament

Description:

The Sugar Act was passed by Parliament and it placed a tax on items such as sugar, coffee, tea, wine, molasses, and other imported goods. Colonists such as bakers were the most affected by this tax since they required these things in order to make their treats and sell them to other colonists. The colonists began to stop doing business with people who sold imported products as a way to protest against the tax.
