mar 5, 1770 - Boston Massacre

Description:

On March 5, 1770, the colonists began to protest violently and provoking the British guarding the Custom House by throwing clubs and snowballs at them and telling them to shoot. Eventually, a shot was fired, causing multiple of the other redcoats to fire and in the end, four colonists and a slave named Crispus Attucks were killed. The redcoats were put into jail for murder but were soon put out after John Adams, who was a lawyer at the time, claimed the soldiers shot in act of self-defense and won the trial. A man named Paul Revere hated the British Monarch so he created a painting called the "Boston Massacre" where it appears the redcoats are shooting innocent colonists. This painting was published in newspapers and soon all of the colonies were aware of the event and began to hate the British monarch.
