apr 5, 1764 - The Sugar Act was Introduced

Description:

The Sugar Act was a law that had the main intention to tax sugar shipments as a way to gain extra revenue. The revenue was gonna be used to pay back the war debt that was charged for the French and Indian War the year prior. Many of the colonist didn't pay the taxes and at the time that was Britain's best hope of paying the debt away as soon as possible which angered King George III.
