apr 15, 1764 - The Sugar Act

Description:

The Sugar Act was an act that put taxes on sugar and molasses. Colonist thought this was unfair (especially bakers or people with businesses that involved these goods) because they didn't want to pay extra money for these goods. The King of England was taxing the colonist because he needed to pay off his debt from The French and Indian War. Just like the King of Britain needed to pay off his debt with this tax, he used it on the colonists various times with more taxes.
