The Sugar Act was a tax on sugar, coffee, tea, wine, molasses, and other imports .The Sugar Act got passed by Parliament on April 5, 1764. This tax really affected the colonists in the New England Colonies since most of their population was from England and they are known for drinking tea which is usually used with sugar. This tax also affected bakers because they usually sell goods that contain sugar and with the tax it would cost them more money.
