On March 22, 1765 the Stamp Act was enforced onto the colonists, in order to lessen the King's debt due to the French and Indian War. The Stamp Act was a law passed by Parliament that required the tax collectors to stamp objects for which tax haas been paid. The reason for this law was to catch colonists that did not pay tax and essentially enforced tax to be paid.
