Description:
William Tyndale is the first person to translate the Bible into English from Greek and Hebrew. Just one year after he completed the New Testament in 1525, copies of it where being smuggled into England. He was convicted of heresy and, in 1539, put to death before he finished the Old Testament but his work was the basis for many future translations including the King James Version
