jul 7, 1907 - 1907 Gentleman's Agreement
Description:
Around this time, many people didn’t like the Chinese. They did want as many to immigrate to America.
As the number of Chinese immigrants rose, many Americans became mad.
The Chinese were soon segregated into different schools and neighborhoods.
The Gentleman’s agreement was an agreement (not a law) made by Theodore Roosevelt to lower Chinese immigration, as long as they were included.
