50 years later another Greek philosopher named Aristotle came into the picture who was famous for all his great findings in philosophy and mathematics. He believed that atoms and the empty space they moved through didn't exist and that all matter was made of the four elements as Empedocles believed which were earth, air, fire and water. So , since Aristotle had a way better reputation then Democritus but did no studies to confirm his theory correct, he made everybody reject the atomic theory and believe all matter was made of the 4 elements. This model influenced the scientific community for 2000 until the Alchemist came along and changed that.The problem with his theory is that he believed the empty space doesn't which in fact it does because that is where electrons ( a part of the atom) float around.
