jan 1, 1909 - Ernest Rutherford

Description:

He didn't believe his teacher, JJ Thompson, and conducted a test. If JJ was correct, all of his fired alpha particles should go through his thin sheet of gold.. Unfortunately for JJ, only a few of the atoms went straight through. He then discovered that the positive charge in an atom was called the proton. He also believed that there was a massive part in the middle that was very dense and that an atom is made up mainly of empty space.
