He believed that an atom could be divided into a smaller form. He also discovered that there was a negative charge in an atom called the electron. He had experimental evidence since he used a cathode ray tube, "Crookes tube". He used this device to see and find the atoms and use different charges to find them with a magnet.Added to timeline:
