jun 14, 1923 - Natives (Urban Areas) Act

Description:

The Natives (Urban Areas) Act of 1923 was another cornerstone of the segregationist system.

It decreed that the cities were principally for the use of the White population, and that any Africans residing there would be required to carry passes.

Any Black person found without a pass was liable to be arrested and expelled to the reserves.
