Invented by the Xerox Corporation.
The fax machine became a critical communication breakthrough because people could share documents from two remote locations. It influenced the nature of communication since the speed of transmitting information was making communication more efficient. The fax machine delivered messages instantly which was a positive attributed in comparison the postal mail which would take much longer. A negative attribute was that if an incorrect number was dialled than the document could get into the wrong hands.
